Anyone on here have any experience of the second service that is required on these cars?

My wifes is just approaching the 24k mark and is due to go in for what they call a 'major service', which is basically plugs, filters (oil, air and pollen) and brake fluid.

The thing I can't get my head around is that my local Abarth dealer in Maidstone is quoting £580 + VAT for the pleasure. I nearly fell over when they told me this but after questioning them twice they confirmed that this is the correct price.

Anyone else on here paid this kind of money for their second service?

I've just had my 2nd year service, initially I got three quotes from my nearest three Abarth dealers, prices were £489, £408 and £380 (all including VAT). The cheapest was the furthest away! so I got my closest dealer (Westover, Poole) to price match.

In the end I paid £340 as I supplied them with the BMC airfilter.

I'd have a phone round!

Hang on, Abarth dealer? Can't you just take it into a normal Fiat dealer? Or am I being stupid?

Technically yes, but the dealers would like you to think otherwise. In essence, it is no different from servicing any normal Tjet engine.

I was even advised to take my Abarth A500 to an authorised Abarth dealer and not a Fiat service dealer even if I surmaised it to be a blown 15Amp fuse...
