It’s time people were called out for this BS.

If someone goes on and on about the bad things the state of Israel does while signally ignoring worse things that other states do, what does that make them?

Oh yes, a Labour MP.

You are, unfortunately, wasting your time brother man. I stick around here to read the apoplectic purple prose and gain a view into a thought process I would never otherwise encounter, which is good. But man, you're wasting your time with this one, as admirable, and correct as your sentiment is. Antisemitism is disgusting and needs addressed, just as any form of discrimination does. It, and all forms are unfortunately endemic throughout the varied strata of society, albeit a much improved society in comparison to one's we previously shared. But criticise Israeli policies, American policies, Saudi policies, and you are a lefty Marxist fckwit. Inequity is equally wrong in Israel, palestine, Venezuela, Ireland, China, the list goes on. It has no state, no skin colour, no religion, it is impartial in its predjuidices, it only requires ignorance. Unfortunately inequity is perceived as only matching the color of your rosette, and your protestations define you in the binary way that allows easy criticism and precludes clear thought and action. Much easier to discredit the ones making the noise than to actually attempt to change things isn't it?

You can be a deranged hypocrite without necessarily being anti-Semitic.

I rarely post on here but I felt that this BS needs challenging.Edited by biggbn on Thursday 13th June 18:03
Why do you believe the State of Israel be treated differently to any other independent Country? Should we condemn all and every state that you disagree with? I would suggest that most countries have 'issues' that don't fit with the liberal view of the world but, IYO, should be condemned as anti this, that, and the other.
BTW, your calling posters 'brother man' is very weird! Are you 13?

Man, my post suggests yes, we should call out states equally. And I post as I talk, if you don't like it, that's cool, everyone is different. Edit. I do not suggest condemnation of states or ideas, that's a very ph thought process. But challenging, inquiry, dialogue, yes, inequality should never go unchallenged just as I would not walk past bullying, inequitable behaviour in the street, why should ignore it on a global scale. If you're cool with tolerating such behaviour, that's OK, for you. I would prefer to endeavour to an least try to understand why it is happening and if possible alleviate the effects

Further edit...how quaint of you to describe my post as 'bs', you may not agree with it, but how impolite. I don't usually react to such posts but it's just another example of the insularity and divisiveness that seems so prevalent today. I do not know you, we may be friends or not were we ever to meet, opposing views do not create or destroy friendships, personalities and situations do. But I would certainly not describe your posts as 'bs' and dismiss them out of hand, even if i vehemently disagreed with them. Horses for courses though, have a great day, peace, gbn

For the many, not the Jew.
Fact is, if Hammas, Hezbollah, and some of the Arab states were disarmed, there would be peace, if Israel was disarmed there would be mass slaughter.
Seems the commo/Marxists of the labour party are getting worried, being under investigation for their anti semitic racism, and all. Will be interesting.

Equally, had the Palestinians not been banished from their homeland, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc would not exist ...Edited by Hosenbugler on Thursday 13th June 18:39

The title of the thread demonstrates how little thought the OP has given to the matter.
Being anti israel is quite a hard line stance as many parties support a two state solution. So to be anti-israel is pretty extreme.
So perhaps what the OP actually meant is that he is opposes the actions of the Israeli government.
Doubt he really cares though as he got to stir the pot.
I would agree that it was clumsily worded. Perhaps it would be better and more realistic to suggest one can be against the actions and policies of some members of the Israeli state without being antisemitic, just as you can be against the actions of any individual without being anti their country, sex, skin colour, religion etc... I deleted my post as I decided I can't be arsed with arguing. Calling it "clumsily worded" sounds like you are apologising for the OP.
Whilst the thread title is correct, in the case of Israel it is difficult to separate state from religion. After all Israel was set up to be a home for Jews. I can't actually think of any other country that was actually set up as "religious state" although several have evolved to be.
Israel themselves are not adverse to insinuating that if you criticise Israel you are criticising the Jewish faith.

I cannot apologise on behalf of anyone else, my thoughts on this matter are fairly well documented but I did agree with your original comment, the thread title could have been worded with more thought. Calling it "clumsily worded" sounds like you are apologising for the OP.

So do you think Israel shouldn't exist? Israel themselves are not adverse to insinuating that if you criticise Israel you are criticising the Jewish faith.
