I am one of six leaseholders/directors of the self management company, managing a block of six flats. One of the other leaseholder/director is in the process of remortgaging, and their bank's solicitor has requested that I complete a LPE .

Although I am rather peeved at being asked, since had this leaseholder previously shown interest and been actively involved in the management of the company, then they would have been able to complete the LPE themselves.

If I were to complete the LPE , what would be a reasonable charge I could bill the leaseholder, and/or is there any steps I could take to avoid personal legal liability, for supplying wrong information etc.

I charge £200-£250 up front, should take 30 minutes but they generally respond wanting more information.

Anything you’re not sure of answer ‘not known’, ‘refer to lease’ ‘refer to ‘insurance schedule’ or ‘refer to leaseholder’.

There will be a lengthy section on service charges but if you make it clear that you’re providing information as a leaseholder I doubt you’ll have any liability if you provide incorrect information.

Thanks for all your replies, will follow Tresco's advice, possibly requesting removal of liability prior to completing and returning LPE 1
