Advisories are just that. No obligation to fix them right now.

Ask them what they've done about it though?

You may even find they've fixed those bits after the mot. They might mot it first before they fully prep it.

Disks are probably just rusted from being sat, and will (might) clear up after a few miles.

Tyres, well, you should have looked at those before agreeing to the deal really.

Bit late now, but worth asking for a couple of quid off if they don't fit new ones before collection, but be prepared for them to tell you to Foxtrot Oscar.

If they do put new ones on, they're likely to be cheap st anyway, so no loss if they don't.

They might have MOT’d it then replaced the bits.

They might, of course, not do any of it.

I'm surprised that front tyre damage was only an advisory and not a fail?

As said, they may replace them with dirt cheap budgets which has happened to me before. The 208gti has a fairly standard 17" tyre size so they're not too expensive.

Maybe if you tell them that you are concerned and thinking of pulling out of the deal? See what they will do.

Give them a call & ask them how the MOT went & see what they say, you may well find they've carried out the necessary work or if they haven't have a discussion & I'm pretty sure you'll find a suitable solution.

^This. I bought my current car from a main dealers. They MOT'd it and because there was a cut on one of the tyres replaced what was a decent branded tyre with the cheapest tyre they could. This then meant that it had 3 different makes of tyres on (before it had different front and back but that's not that big a deal).

I honestly would rather been offered the choice to pay the difference and have a pair of decent matched tyres on that axle (eg if the Linglong was £60 and a decent tyre was £120 pay £180 for two tyres).

In my experience, whilst the Widowmakers are an admirable budget option, I prefer the Kamak Slidewell Extreme. These are the performance version of Kamak Ditchfinder All Seasons, so are in excellent company.

I've asked for tyres to be replaced on three cars bought from main dealers and they all fitted the same OEM ones (Conti, Michelin and Pirelli).

Is there a 100 point or similar checklist on the car ?

Do this in writing not on the phone
