The side carpet (drivers side) keeps coming away from the door surround trim, no matter how many times I tuck it back in (haven't got round to glue yet). Anyway, yesterday being so hot I wore shorts, and was immediately aware of cold air blasting out from behind the carpet. This would explain why the carpet keeps coming away as there must be alot of pressure behind it to create such a blast. But where is it coming from? Is this normal? These are the things I need to know smile

Piccie below.....

I found this out too and assumed it was a deliberate feature to allow air churnage around the lower regions. Apart from taping up, it only stops with roof and windows fully up.

Yep, spot on, blew straight up the old trouser (shorts) leg biggrin Never noticed it before smile Actually, it wasn't unpleasant, bit of a cooling draught around the family jewels, smile Might actually be worth fitting a little directional air vent thingy down there... might even be able to sell it... TVR nut cooler, take away the sweaty bk syndrome on those hot summer days... fit this after market nut cooler and enjoy the benefits of chilled tackle biggrin

More seriously, I'd love to know where the air intake for the fresh air/heater system is located (the one that is meant to work on the 3 days a year the hood isn't down).

I have had my Chim parked in a stable, and now at 120 mph and above both driver and passenger get showered in a cloud of chewed insulation and half eaten seed husks. Also, the carpet seems to be covered in little bits of god knows what at all speeds.

Thankfully I am married, so not trying to impress anything in a short skirt, but pebble-dashing my passengers with mouse droppings isn't doing my credibility much good, and requires the wearing of shades in all weather - my excuse for trying (and failing) to look cool.

You need to be careful. Mice have a penchant for chewing through cables in cars, so try to find the vermin and stop it.
A friend had to take the body off his Griffith to ort out the wiring that a field mouse had snacked on :-(

+1. My car came with various receipts from the previous owner. Among them was one for the car to be recovered and have the mouse damage repaired! yikes So these beastly mices certainly can bring a Tiv to its knees if left to indulge, unattended. shoot

The air is drawn from the front left hand-side into the void between inner/outer wheel arch all the way to behind the left hand wheel above the sill, just left of the passengers ankles to the blower for hot/cold air. Likewise on the right for later cars and their seperate cold air blower.

The wee buggers have probably nested in front or behind the wheel arch - hence the detritus!!

Ahhh you see this is one of the advantages of advancing years ...

Aside from cheaper fully comp insurance than my colleague and his Renault Twingo Sport comes the enviable ability to lob the "old man ballbag" out of ones nearside shorts leg and dangle 'em over the edge of the seat to channel the breeze from the drivers fresh air vent northwards to Narnia.

Only thing to remember is to watch out for lorry drivers in slow moving traffic jams...

Once they are both fully laquered up and cured in the sun, what bored lorry driver could fail to be impressed.
