Subaru Legacy tuned by STI
Discussion
This will be a bit of a slow one. Just bought the below car. It's still in Japan though. Hopefully, will be on the road over here come January 2021.
Been searching for nearly a year for this spec. Pearl white, low owner/mileage, factory standard with the auto box (60% rear bias compared with 50/50 F/R for the manual). 2007 model with 49k miles on it. Comes standard with Bilstein suspension, 4 pot Brembo brakes, twin scroll turbo, half leather/alcantara trim, and a host of other STI parts.
Anyway, few pictures from the dealership in Japan. It's been removed from sale now and I just have to sit and wait for it. Will be a long 16 weeks.

These are awesome.
Nearly pushed the button on one myself a few years from quay imports. I've always liked the impreza but there's just something a bit more understated about the legacy, think I'm right in saying these have to be ran on super unleaded due to the maps.
As you say, a long wait for it to arrive but will be worth it, a fast, petrol, 4wd, auto is an awesome setup

Morning. Yes, 100 in Japan so needs 99 over here (but can be mapped for lower grade fuel). I will have it re-mapped as soon as it lands anyway. This will make the most of 99, remove the factory speed limit and the cruise control which is set to 67 mph. Safe limit for these is no more than 300 bhp, but with the auto box, nearly 400 ft/lb of torque can be achieved from a little over 3000 rpm. The twin scroll isn't designed for all out bhp, more a nice linear surge from low down. Nearly pushed the button on one myself a few years from quay imports. I've got a few little mods planned, nothing big. Needs to be slightly lower, wheels needs to be darker, fresh set of discs and pads, new tyres all round, full detail inside and out and a full service including belt and fluid change.

Looks very nice. Would have definitely gone for a manual myself but people have other preferences. Congrats.
I think these suit the auto better, IMO. They're not a hot hatch/sports car really, more a cruiser/GT car. Since having the DSG box, I don't want a manual again. Unless youre really on it, I don't see the point of a manual box anymore. That's just me though

How much will this set you back including import fees etc if you don’t mind me asking?
Always had a soft spot for these, looks like a very clean example
This one will be a little over 12k landed, on the road, ready to drive off. Obviously, they will be cheaper once they are here. The first owner will always take the hit on the VAT/import/shipping etc. But to me, I don't think 12k is too bad. I intend to keep it for a few years as a second car anyway, so will only do a couple of thousand miles a year in it (if that). Always had a soft spot for these, looks like a very clean example

Ive been looking into these myself.
Autos are a fair bit cheaper than manuals
I take it you bought from a trader there instead of auction
Im lucky my mates an agent.
Looks a nice car
Yes, searched and found the car at a dealership. I then asked Torque GT would they handle it all, which they said yes to. I paid them £1000 upfront for their guy to go down and inspect it, do a report, get all the information etc. Once it came back as good, I was asked if I wanted to proceed. Agreed to this, then I had to pay 60-70% of the total on the road price. I got an invoice for £7750 which I then paid. The remaining money will then be paid when it's ready to collect. All in all, it moved very quickly (2 days) and can't fault Torque GT one bit. Nothing but professional and the communication has been brilliant from Tom. Autos are a fair bit cheaper than manuals

I remember your Forester and wonder why you've gone for the Legacy? Having had the Forester and moved it on, I occasionally check through Legacy estates, but can't bring myself to buy my fourth Subaru (that's what I keep telling myself). Is the Legacy that much bigger than the Forester?
I think the Legacy is just a little less under the radar than the FSTI. I've always likes estate cars and I daily a Legacy too. It's been 100% reliable in the 7 years I've had it. All its needed is discs, pads, a battery and a new lambda sensor.
I can't wait to get it and put my stamp on it.
