This thread could have been a "where do i go from here" with responses ranging from "is it worth it to continue chasing them for £120" to "typical house building company getting away with it again" but......
For the 3rd time in about 5 years my local roads and sunken manhole covers have resulted in damaged tyres.
The first one I reported to WCC resulted in "We didn't know about it therefore tuff".
The 2nd ellicted an "It doesn't belong to us, but we don't know who owns it" response and extensive detective work proved fruitless
My most recent claim happened on a manhole already bordered by yellow paint (marked for repair??) and although i had to shell out £120 for a new tyre i had high hopes. I went onto WCC reporting site and noted another driver had already reported it and all looked good. I submitted my claim and waited about 7 weeks for Warwick council to hit me with a letter stating "We don't own it, please contact Persimmon homes"
My heart sank and i wrestled with the options of giving up there or continuing in my forlorn hope.
Fast forward 7 working days, a small email chain with evidence to the PA to the MD of central, and the cheque is in the post.
So a shout out and
to Persimmon Homes for admitting liability with zero hassle to me.
