I started divorce proceedings against my wife in the Philippines 3 months ago, she signed all papers, fedexed them back and they were sent to the court. My solicitor pointed out she had missed one signature off, (something about her using a solicitor herself, which she is not)

Today, three months after we started, and £2000 later, the court rejected the papers and I have to start all over again!

Even the solicitor said the paper is very ambiguous about that signature.

fk fk fk fk and fk! I have been biting my tongue, being nice, being friendly, still supporting her financially and now, just before the holidays we start all, over again!!!

I am so fking pissed off with this whole thing I could just end it all right now, but I have my daughter living with me so tha is not even a possibility.

Two years ago I was living the dream in paradise, and now I am stuck back in England living pension cheque to pension cheque, and I just want a piece of fking rope and a tree to tie it too.

Don't even think about the rope!

It's very generous that you're still supporting the wife. My wife has stopped supporting me since we separated...

Just focus on your daughter for now. The delay doesn't change anything does it?

Think of it as a hiccup in the road, you'll get there soon enough!

Always feel free to come on here and sound off - we're a bunch of idiots in the main, but someone will be sympathetic beer

Thanks guys, things have been st for a long time, and today was the diarrhoea icing on the st cake.

A bit of a vent makes it easier to tolerate.

I’m still not sure why she was supposed to sign that part, saying that she is a solicitor, or she is using one, something like that. I’ll check when I see the papers again. I knew I should have scanned them all......

Sorry to hear that, I've posted in a couple of your threads recently whilst this has been going on and I could see that it was something you were looking forward to getting all finished with.
Only way is forward so if you can, get the ball rolling now, no point in waiting!

good luck.

Sorry to hear what you're going through King Herald. From what you've written on here in the past your daughter is a caring and intelligent young woman who you have a great relationship with - don't do anything which may ruin your future and hers.

If you need to get stuff off your chest use PHs or perhaps call the Samaritans free on 116123 - google suggests that you can also email them these days at jo@samaritans.org.

Thanks, I hope it never comes down to that stage, but it is good to know they are there if one needs them.

My daughter is great, she really is a rock, and for her age she doesn’t have any of the vices she should have, sex, booze, cigarettes, boys.....not yet anyway. She is the only reason I get out of bed each day.

It will get sorted, you will get the signature, you will get divorced and be free of this.

When you are going through big changes, the important thing is just to keep going.... you will adjust to the new normal, and you will get back to plotting how to make your life better and you will succeed at that. Its human nature, built in !

Take a moment, think about what you do have and try to let go of the stuff you no longer need.

I just found a copy on line and worked out what she missed, it was the final signature on the Consent form. She had already filled in and signed the form, then there is a another page with a ‘truth statement’ that requires her name and her solicitors name.

Now I read it again, it is obviously asking for her signature. But she didn’t understand it, I misunderstood it, and the solicitor noticed it but still sent it to the court knowing it was unsigned....

So why at this point did he allow the papers to be submitted? Isn't this the sort of thing your paying him to get right!
I'd be venting at him.

By rights the papers would have had to go back to the Philippines for that one signature, but that would have saved two months and probably a few hundred quid in solicitors fees for sorting it all out.

(I would probably have scrawled her name myself, copied one of the ten or more she had done on others places)
