I bought a used car from a cazoo dealership last week and I wish to put a private reg on it but just waiting on the logbook. Just wanted to know how long does it usually take for a logbook to arrive when it's from a dealership?

UPDATE: so after going back and forth with cazoo customer service, I checked on the dvla website when the car last charged ownership and it was coming up as last year! I sent the screenshot to cazoo and they have apologised that they should have promptly changed the ownership when I collected the car, they have now sent me proof of the transfer. Was quite annoyed as I'm not sure they would have picked it up if I didn't raise the issue. Oh well, another few days to wait before I can put a private reg on!

how long is a piece of string...

It normally only takes a few working days to receive the log book but with the weird times over the last couple of years who knows.

Recent experience and based on PH posts it seems to be a week or less if the transfer was done online but much longer (weeks or even months) if the transfer was done via the post.

Done online it will be a few days, however as Cazoo give you 14 days (?) to return the car if you don't like it, I should imagine the change of keeper is not actioned until the 14 days are up.

Hi, as mentioned in one of my previous posts- I bought a car from cazoo exactly a week ago and yet have not received the logbook. Ive bought cars from other dealers in the past and have usually had the logbook within 3 or 4 days.

I've been in touch with a cazoo as it's been a full week and they have said that they would have sent the logbook off when I was given the car so I should have had it by now and they then advised that I should contact the dvla on Monday as I am now the registered owner.

Is it actually worth getting in touch with the dvla about this? Because I have a feeling that they will just end up saying the standard 'wait up to 4 - 6 weeks'. Has anybody has experience of it taking this long?

Did cazoo say if they sent the docs off by post or if they did the transfers via the DVLA website?
If they sent docs by post then there is no way you will get the new V5C back within a week.

Pretty sure it was done online, do you think it's worth ordering a replacement?

I sent off all three of my V5s a week ago due to change of address, all in the same envelope.

The bike one arrived a couple of days ago but not seen the 2 car ones yet.

My licence was waiting for me on the doormat of the new place the day I moved in.

Just curious as to how quick everyone has got their logbooks when buying used cars from dealerships and motor traders, I know they usually say wait up to 6 weeks but it would be normally take a couple of days wouldn't it?

Dealer/previous owner applied for replacement on 28th and they still haven’t received it so I can’t take delivery of my car.

Last September it took about 4 days, I think.

Online in my experience, it's fast. Less than a week. Post, on the other hand, frown .

I had to send mine off by post because there was an error in my name (can't be done online). After waiting the advised 6 weeks eek , I rang them. Said they had no record of it, didn't have and it wasn't undergoing a process, I'd have to pay £25 for a new one, must have been 'lost' in the post. 1 day later when I checked, a new one had been issued, spooky that.... scratchchin
