WTF is it?
It's the third time that I've heard it today, am I about to be nuked? Been living here several years and I haven't noticed it before.
I've been hearing it a lot for the the last few days, we look out over Southampton Water so I guess if Fawley went up in a big way our windows would come in!
BP Hamble have a big siren too.
Never mind the sirens, the bloody fog horns this weekend were a right pain.
Was it the alarm (rising and falling note) or the all-clear (steady note)?
If the former - Panic!
School fire alarm was a full-size siren on a walkway right outside a first floor window
edited as alarm and all-clear were wrong way round - whatamistakatomaka

Well fortunately the City hasn't been annihilated (though it would be difficult to notice the difference sometimes), but I'm suprised I haven't noticed it before. If they test it so frequently then how am I supposed to know when to dive under the kitchen table, damnit!

If Fawley ever goes up (Specifically The Seven Sisters) the blast radius is up to the Civic Centre.......
Now that WOULD be worth seeing, hopefully it'll take all those bloody traffic lights with it.krusty said:

One of the blokes I worked with down there commented that he would jump in to Southampton Water if the worst ever happened, til the Safety guy pointed out, that the water would no longer be there!
The one in Portsmouth is the Nuclear Incident siren at the dockyard, they test it twice a year.
There's also another one for the FOD at Gosport which they hardly ever test, and I believe there's a nuclear incident siren at RNAD Gosport too but they don't test it. Because there's nothing nuclear there. No sir. Nope. Lies.
