Oh lawd....willfully ignorant or just collossally stupid? A little bit of both I think. I find it amazing how people can choose to believe in something for which there is no evidence, at the same time denying the truth in the face of overwhelming evidence. It has to be some form of mental illness, or at least a serious personality disorder.

A curious theory for no other reason than a sphere is about the most stable shape you can get. e.g. a water droplet forms a sphere, etc... In that respect, surely the earth (wherever it "is") would form the most stable shape to be in equilibrium with it's surroundings - i.e. a sphere...

Given the location of that article (www.brownsmouthpiece.co.uk), the attitude is rather refreshing. Usually the beeb are the first to jump on bandwagons promoting subjects that require "true belief" regardless of hard facts. MMGW anyone?

...although not a particularly rare one.Unless they genuinely are simpletons I suspect they are just a bunch of bored people who want to be part of a group. What I find difficult to believe is that anyone would be unable to find something 'better' than this to do with their time... I don't necessarily mean more worthy but simply more interesting and/or more fun.
