Is the tax i'm paying correct?
Discussion
It's certainly an unusual one. If you had two separate jobs with two separate employers your tax would calculate as Eric describes.
But when it's the same employer generating two pay slips.... I think you should ring the tax office.
They are usually very helpful once you eventually get through to them.

I think your payroll department has messed up somehow by allocating you the personal allowance twice. Don't worry, it's easily fixable but you might have underpaid some tax.
Email them and say "You appear to have given me the full personal Allowance for both of my roles. Please could you check that this is correct?"
[The only reason i could think of is if you had to fill in a P46 (New starter Form) when you started the bank role and you inadvertently ticked the "This is my only and main job and I have not had another job since 6th April" box"..............]

"As your earnings from both posts are added together each month and treated as one we apply the same tax code to both posts"
seems despite getting two wage slips, my income is counted as one job.
I wonder if they are going to give you separate P60s as well?

That is strange! Why go to the trouble of producing two separate payslips if they are combining the earnings for tax purposes? Are you getting two separate NI allowances? :confused?

Only paying NI on the bank wage slip. Nothing deductions on my main wage slip apart from pension.I wonder if they are going to give you separate P60s as well?
I also work part time for the NHS. I had 3 payskip. As one part of my rota is under Out of Hour Service and the other under Transport Services that's 2 payslips.
Any extra shifts are under a third pay number. Each with separate payslips etc. The 4th part of my taxable income is a pension.
For tax purposes it would simply be a case of allocation of my tax allowance to my pension and paying basic rate on everything else.
Except I am in Scotland and it all adds up to slightly more than our higher tax threshold.
Which is one reason I gave up the Transport Services shifts in February.
The benefit of separate contracts was I just resigned from that one and didn't need to negotiate about reducing hours.
