Well played.
I can just about get a few 8' batten into my Jazz shed diagonally so have to cut stuff up in the merchant car park and it's at least a 50mile round trip. Quantity & 8'x4' sheets have to be delivered!
I probably could have got the 6' x 4' sheets in, but not flat, without removing seats, and certainly not with the rest of the family in. But the 2.4m lengths of CLS were OK.

Many times have I "jousted" 4.2m lengths of skirting through the passenger window of our 1-series...don't have the pic but here is some 3m drain pipe...

I did similar with my MX-5 in the past.

I got the ply measured with pilot holes drilled and countersunk.
Pilot holes aren't usually countersunk, that's for the clearance hole. That way the screw thread pulls the rear piece of wood firmly onto the front piece. If the thread is biting into both pieces it can't do that (though few people seem to care these days!)

By coincidence I was fitting a sheet of 9mm ply today and it was so soft it didn't need countersinking at all... I think I've seen harder balsawood.

Ideal for taking a pedestrian's head off.

They have invented these new things called roof racks. smile
