whereabouts? we have considered a ski trip, and are currently negotiating to buy a crumbling wreck on the italian side about 30mins from kranjska gora It's often quite pricey to fly to Ljubljana even on Queasyjet, so my top tip is to fly to Trieste or Zagreb and hire a car, as you'll likely need one anyway to make the most of using several resorts across the region. Usually we stay at a hotel in Bled (recommend Rikli Balance Hotel). Watch out for using a car hire firm which can supply cross border insurance. Even though they're all in the EU, rental companies still live in the dark ages and charge you extra for crossing borders. Also, make sure you get a car fitted with winter tyres, as it's a necessary requirement.

Immediately after typing that, I thought Snowshill!
It actually looks a lot like the pond and planting in front garden in the Cotswolds - have you been stalking me?
That would be pretty funny..... post a photo of another PH'ers front garden and see how long it takes to get recognised Immediately after typing that, I thought Snowshill!

I mentioned Kranjska as it’s close to where we are trying to buy, which is just over the pass from the Soca valley. Ljub is an hour and a half.
Covered on all the rest, we usually drive from CH but if we get this house then there’s a big rethink on our rather complicated living arrangements to be had!
Looks *exactly* like the lily pond at Hidcote, (apart from the statue, which may be a temporary installation)

Are we saying its definitely not Hidcote? Only reason for asking is I looked up Hidcote as I'd never heard of it & that 1st picture is so similar to a picture I found of Hidcotesilentbrown said:
