Dacia Duster - my first ever brand new car
Discussion
Duster went back for a day so I was lent a Bigster. It feels absolutely huge. Loved the pan roof but on the larger wheels it was definitely more trashy than my Duster.
Liked the car in Electric (was a full hybrid) but the gearbox and synchronization felt quite rough and the powerplant definitely isn't as smooth as the 1.3 Mild hybrid in my duster.
Would consider one in the future but defo not with that engine / gearbox.
Looks smart that. I've been a fan of the Dacia range from their launch in the UK. My eldest daughters mum had a Duster 1.5dci, it had a couple of niggles and she sadly didn't really look after it but I always thought it was great and a hell of a car for the money.
For their pricing, it's surprising some of the bits and pieces you get in there. They have really modernised their looks.
Any pics of the interior OP?

I went for the Extreme spec for my Bigster to avoid the larger wheels and to get the panoramic roof. The ride is pretty much identical to my previous Duster. christurbo said:
I've never heard of these and you have just got me browsing their website. The Bigster is incredible value for money. Do they do discounts on RRP?
Don't think I would replace my Disco for one, but it would make a nice addition / runaround.
No discounts on RRP for the Bigster when I bought mine a couple of months ago. Only genuine offer was a 4 year service plan which effectively gave 1/2 price services over the 4 years but extended the warranty from 3 to 4 years since it extends by a year if you have a Main Dealer service each year. They really are great value tho. Practically I ve not found anything it can t do that my Defender 110 can do. I ve the 4x4 version so will obviously get a better view of that in practice over winter.
I originally got our previous Duster to replace a Discovery 3 and there were some compromises re the size but that would be less so with the Bigster.

That's good to know. I use my Disco over my fields so would keep it. I'm seriously interested in these though! They really are great value tho. I got my Bigster 155 Journey at the beginning of Sept for a grand off the RRP with some little bits thrown in.
I didn't realise that people were waiting ages for their orders.
I decided I wanted one, visited a few dealers around SW London and Surrey. Looked on Autotrader and called a place well up North as they were doing the cheapest deal, but the grey I wanted was already sold.
Ended up crossing London to Romford to get one for £100 more than the Northern one. Would have cost me that on the train ticket alone, and London travel is free for me
Was about 10 days from starting looking to having the keys.

I'm trying with all the nasty salt and stuff on the roads to keep on top of the car...and to be fair as I don't have the Caterham at the moment I'm probably being overly fussy in keeping the Duster clear.
We're on 1700miles now and I'm still super happy with it.
Found a little combo which is an absolute cheat code for making it easy to wash each time.

The Halfords shampoo that's ceramic infused is easily as good as more expensive stuff I've used and then Carbon Collective detailer works a treat and a tiny amount goes a long way..

Finally I remember someone wanting a dash picture. It has some scratchy plastics but overall it's a nice place to be.

Whats the 155 like to drive? I've heard the 140 in yhe duster is a unrefined and noisy, but next year the stepway and duster will be getting the 155 hybrid. I didn't realise that people were waiting ages for their orders.

Also an auto 4x4 for the duster
