BMW X3 07 2.0d Facelift?

Hi guys,

Just a quick one, I read that the 07+ X3 2.0d got a face lift and a new engine is that right? It went up to 177hp?

What is the best way to spot the facelift car? What build date did it start from as I am sure an 07 number plate is not good enough is it as that could be a Sept-Oct 06 build car right?

Don't know if this helps at all but when I was looking at them I was told if it's a 2.0D and auto then it is a 177ps ... as they only did the 163ps as a manual AFAIK.

I'm pretty sure the X3 facelift took place mid-2006 but the new 'ED' 177bhp engine wasn't used until mid-2007. So you may find 56/07 plated cars are facelifted but have the old engine. You'll want to check the build date (under the bonnet) and the engine rating in KW to be absolutely sure. I fell foul to not understanding this fully myself when I bought a 57-plate SD thinking it was ED, however it was built Aug 07 and the ED tweaks were introduced in September. So I'm stuck paying the highest VED band whereas ED cars cost half as much to tax.
