A whole range of thoughts spring to mind...
"It's just a car."
"If I had one I'd lend it to you, mate."
"What if you crash it?" "Don't worry, I'd pay for it." (Yeah, right.)
"Don't worry, I'm fully insured." (Read: your pride and joy is only covered third party; plus just because he's fully comp on his car, not all FC policies cover the use of another car.)
"Don't worry, I'll treat it like my own." (Read: redline it from cold, 50% chance of it going through a bush backwards.)
Returns to you with bald tyres, stone-chipped to death, clutch/gearbox/diff fked.
If he introduced you to your beloved, ignore the above.

I would, and In the past I havesmile..... My good mates would respect my stuff as I do, so no problem..smile

Even though I've sold my Griff, I've had 3 very kind offers to borrow Mates Griffs, who can't attend Chatsworth for one reason or another....... Which is nice...

Thinking about it, I might take one of em up on the offer...... Save getting the Aston muckyhehehehe
Sold the Griff?? yikes When did this happen?

Sorry I'm not a TVR owner (though in my defence I'm doing some research into a possible Chimaera purchase once I get my RS2000 done), but a good friend of mine and I did a swop for each other's car once: He had a Lotus Excel 2.2 and he wanted to pick up some bulky item so he needed my Cavalier (which was pretty new at the time). No harm done either way, though the cambelt snapped on him a few weeks after, thankfully not when I had it. eek Another friend let me drive his VX220 on a track day, which pretty trusting I thought and we're doing it again later this year.

I must have an honest face. smile

I used to swap cars with a mate I worked with that had a nissan skyline. We also swapped company cars and motorcycles.

I am about to loan the car to a mate that is a police officer. He has had all the advanced training.

But I will give him a lesson in driving the chimaera.

Would - only a car and chances are they will love it so much they'll get their ownbiggrin

Have insured my mate to drive mine this weekend. Granted I cringe when he's too close to the verge or in the wrong gear but hey, I think he's nearly converted!!!

a) it hasn't been polished this week
b) its used value has dropped this week

Probably not.

I would let a suitably qualified person take it for a few laps on a track day or a spin round the block, however. Despite the fact the one person I lent my previous TVR to span to within a couple of feet of the crash barriers! He was absolutely bricking it. biggrin

Yep and longer - I lent a mate of mine my Chimaera for the summer two years back as I wasn't using it - he's bought one himself recently smile
