Had a look at a Eunos today, not bad condition I don't think, just a few questions.

1) The aircon doesnt work, is it likely to just need a regas or is it more likely to be completely broken?

2) Both electric windows work but they're pretty slow, is this just a case of a new motor?

3) Wheel arches and sills looked and felt rust free but looking further under the car there are two metal beams going from back to front that looked and felt pretty rusty. Is this serious or to be expected?

Thanks!

I'll try and be helpful here.

will probably use the old style gas you can't get any more, best to do more research into it but I'd go for broken.

sliders in these normally need greased up which people rarely do.

not sure, if you mean the beam that is connected to the diff from the engine gearbox this can be replaced.

The search function is utter pap mate, I have tried it smile

I think the bit I was referring to as being rusty are the frame rails...is this terminal or can they be replaced?

Thanks for the replies, been helpful smile

The chassis rails are normally a bit bent up on older cars due to people not knowing where to jack the cars up from. Hence the can get rusty after some damage. Don't know if they can be repaired/replaced though.

I think the rails can be repaired, it depends on the extent of the damage I guess. If they're not too bad, you could get welded as necessary, treat them with some rust converter, waxoyl/dinitrol, then pop some of these over them http://www.performance5.com/handling_stiffening.as... ,not sure if anyone has these on their car and can recommend, I'd considered getting a set myself.

As mentioned the gas used originally probably isn't available, and the system can be expensive to convert to run on newer gas - I found a cheap fix, there's a lever at the top of each of the 'A' pillars, give both of them a tug..

Yes, I think your talking about the frame rails.

Most older cars (and especially those that are lowered) have a bit of damage to these, there hollow box sections so can get crunched on speed bumps (or fork lifts!) or bad jacking.

You'd have to take a judgement on these, whether it was surface rust or more serious. Although, I guess they'd be easier and cheaper to repair than exterior bodywork/sills.
