After seeing the price for epoxy mortar (£20 for 2kg of Sika Sikadur epoxy repair mortar) I'd like to know if this can be easily mixed up with vastly cheaper component parts rather than buying ready packaged?

It's for small and thin concrete repairs to steps and other concrete areas where normal mortar seems to pop off in no time.

If it's too specialist to make up then is there a sand/cement/admixture alternative that would be more suitable than just sand/cement?

I recently purchased some concrete repair morter from wickes, which was about £6 for 5 Kg to repair some patio grouting. I made it up with a 50:50 mix of water and epoxy to make it fully waterproof. very easy to use, even for me.

I've seen that before. It's a cement based mortar, what do you mean when you say mix with epoxy?
