Hi,

I am on the verge of placing an order on www.auto-speed-racing.com but don't really know anything about them.

They seem to be based in Le Mans, and specialise in Le Mans goods.

However, since I am going to place a large order, I want to be sure that I am not going to be ripped off.

So do any of you know about this site and/or have purchased from them?

Thanks,
Stephen

Never seen them before, but site looks pukka and there is good selection, nice stuff.

Why not place order for something low cost to start, as a test, then all being well place the big order.

Probably my nasty lawyer's mind but I wouldn't regard the way the 'site' is set up as particularly comforting.
We do a lot of IP fraud work and our technical bod could set this up ( and dismantle it in about three nanno-seconds- so he tells me)
Things you might try are:

contact directly via telephone on web site.

Can someone French speaking speaking call the number snd see if they are genuine?

Some basic ideas but hope they help
G

The site can be knocked up in Microsoft FrontPage in literally 20 minutes!

What exactly are you buying off there? Not possible to get it anywhere else for peace of mind?

I am buying Le mans annuals which are particulary expensive. They are very hard to find if they are over five years old.

It seems an odd selection of goods to be trying to do people over with.

If it was selling ipad2 and iphones at great price, I would be somewhat concerned.

It may be a small shop or individual trying to also use Internet for sales and they don't have much skills towards IT.

Would you mastermind a get rich quick plan selling Le mans posters and programs?

If you're heading down there in June why not wait a few weeks and buy direct, just turn up on the door step of the address and hope its a shop :-) if its not, the order when you get back

If they are who I think they are, thats the shop in the town centre with all the models and books - they don't do anything else - and have been around for years although they recently moved to different premises. They have the most amazing LM collections and I always pop in for a look. I could be wrong but if it is them, they are a genuine operation - I say operation, really its a one man band.

OK - I looked on the map and it isn't what I thought so why not wait a few weeks and go there in person.

Streetview shows it as a residential street. Collector or solely Internet business?
