I'm meeting some mates about 11am Saturday morning in Reading town centre for a full fry up before heading off to Newbury Races. Anyone recommend somewhere good to eat?

Cheers
Tony

I hear many good things about The Moderation for breakfasts, but I'm not sure it's every day of the week. It's up near Caversham Bridge.

On the other side of the bridge is the Alto Lounge which has a great atmosphere at weekends.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I was hoping for something a bit closer to Reading train station/town centre but not the 3 Guineas!

Any more ideas?

Thanks
Tony

Girraffe just out side the oracle does a good brunch, I realise this is the wrong end of town though..

The Moderation is not far from the station, if you use the north entrance tongue out

Cattle Market is quite close to the train station. Dirt, grease and beans on the same plate for a reasonable sum biggrin

Or suck it up and make the walk to the Gorge cafe, well worth it.

I was originally thinking about the Gorge cafe but for some reason had it in my mind it was a bit of a trek. I think I will leave 15 mins earlier and make the walk, sounds like it will be worth it based on your recommendations.

Cheers guys.
