Recently I have seen a lot of boy racers with stuffed toys tied to to the front or rear tow hooks of boy racer cars. Does anyone know what is is all about?

Is it not a trend from Jap drifting scene. When drifting the toy sticks out horizontal
to show how "drifty" you are. Obviously on a FWD Saxo you just look like a fud.

Could be wrong but i think it started in the JDM scene and has moved onto the VAG scene from what ive seen.

They can do alot worse imo.

This.

Ideally you want your little Dori-mo doll to be kissing the barriers without ripping your back bumper off. Again.

I have noticed this too best one I saw was in Wells-next-the-see, a battered corsa with all the bling on and a teddy hanging off the bumper. Bizarre.

I just thought it was another thing that the dub scene morons have stolen from another car trend. They do that a lot around here.

Spot on. It started in Japan with random "cult" cartoon characters on drift cars, to show how sideways you were... Then some other track cars followed, then the VAG/Euro scene jumped in, and now every chav in a 1.0 corsa C with "tints nd rimz" feels the need to have dora the explorer cable tied to their tow-hook

Thanks chaps, makes sense. Doesn't bother me, but the other half cries when she sees her favourite stuffed creatures being treated badly (women!?!), IMO it makes them look a bit pansy-ish :-)

I've seen a few Corsas with those C'mon characters being dragged behind... Maybe they are on the Vauxhall options list.

A few of my friends/acquaintances do this. I've never really asked why, I think they do it because it looks funny. Makes me laugh anyway.

There's a (tastefully) modified Skoda Felicia I keep seeing with pink fluffy dice hanging from the tow hook.

I've noticed this, but just assumed it was the latest euro / dub / SCeNe thing.

There was a short period when alot of Jap cars have black rags hanging from under the car - anyone no what this was about?

It's to denote whether they are a 'cuddler' or they like to be 'cuddled'. It is certainly part of a scene, but not the one everyone seems to think. smile

The black rag means you're willing to partake in an insurance scam: Ram the car gently from behind and everyone in both cars claims whiplash.....

Either that or its a good luck charm utilized by certain sectors of the community.....

I don't usually answer threads like this so as not to offend, but I think it looks awful. Completely pointless.

I thought that was 'active' and 'passive'? Brings a whole new meaning to some of the special edition models that you see around eek

Same as the toys, to visualise drift effectiveness... heard of some having a small weight in the end

This is kickstart...

He lives on the back of my bike and guards it when I am away. I've tried getting him to wear a helmet but he just won't, reckons he's too hardcore for that. He also gets me a surprising amount of female attention too which is nice....

Myself and most of my mates who I ride with have fluffy toys attached to our bikes, not really sure why, it's just a thing that we started doing. I never realized that it's become the latest boy-racer trend too...

Apart from bin/recycling lorries of course, they've been humiliating fluffy toys for years.......

If they are stuffed toys are they not going to go a bit manky getting wet all the time in the rain or when they are washing their car.

I have not seen any thankfully.
