Just got the Griff back on Friday following a service,
Injector clean out, ECU upgrade and pre-cat removal. Cost me £1600. I'm not on here to complain about the work or sevice at all, I will go back. But the difference, noise aside - which is awesome, I'm really not sure about.

It was my choice to get it done but on balance I think the money would have been better left in the Bank.

Before = 256BHP @ 5211rpm. After = 259BHP @ 5108rpm

Before = 290lbft @4041rpm. After = 295lbft @ 4181rpm

Biggest difference on the graph is the extra 30lbft torque at 2000rpm but its not that noticeable on the move.

Was I being unreasonable with my expectations ? Anybody else had similar work done recently ?

Matt

Thanks for posting that. Interesting to hear what the real differences are after such mods.

What ECU upgrade did you have done, and who did the work?

Had an ECU upgrade on my Griff and got the same sought of improvement for the same sort of money!
I think that in hindsight I should have spent the money on Nitrons.

IMO these mods could well have improved the way the car drives (i.e. smoother) but there is nothing there that would have significantly improved BHP.

If you were told that there would be (rather than "could be") a power-hike then I'm surprised.

As marlon said there isn't realt anything there to improve power? the pre cats only realy need to be removed if they are blocked as they will comftably flow 170 bhp per bank, the chip up grade, was this just a chip or was it a rolling road session, i dont know who did the chip/work but even if it was mark adams as good as he is even he cant do perfect of the shelf chips no one can every engine is different, mind you the 30 ftlb i have to say is very impresive at least you can use a higher gear and save on the fuel!!

Had the work done at Austec, which included the rolling road session. The car is running great, It always has done.

As I said, I love the extra noise and the crackling & popping. Its so adictive !

Its simply that I was perhaps expecting bigger changes. The extra 10% of torque low down in the rev range is not that apparent, at least not the way I drive it anyway.

Having had a few more days to get used to the car I would say the extra noise is worth a hundred bhp & lb/ft because it sounds like you are going twice as quick as you are !

I set off 2 car alarms yesterday, something i've not done since having the Cerbera.
