Hi all,

Got some very fine scratches around the door inlays and around the cockpit area. It is a Piano black (plastic)finish. Any ideas on how to polish these out, without making it worse?

Thanks...

use a fine or extra fine cutting compound (sometimes known as polish) polish being termed fine cut .

Or use something with fine cut and fillers like auto glym SRP , or dodo juice lime prime .

And the safer way is to just fill marks only using some pre wax cleaner like dodo juice lime prime light (fillers only no cut).

the choice is yours really ,

Here

dodo lime prime in action on wet sanded boot lid in 3000 grit , demo just to show how much fillers there are in detailing products , this was one wipe on and off so not using the cutting action much .

of course few washes later , or strong degreaser wipe down like you get in hand car washes you will be back with what you started with .

the main reason for proper wipe down with solvents before appling sealent or wax on your paint surface .

But on interior painted surface this will last much longer as you dont often start washing down the insides of a car , well i hope not

Great post above there, we have two cars with piano black trim, so will be taking onboard this advice.
