RMS on Boxster bought in Jan - is dealer liable?

As above, our 03 plate Boxster has RMS failure (FFS!) and although the car came with a 5 star RAC warranty the independent assessor said that the RAC probably won't cover it but that the dealer should be liable (under sale of goods act?).

Anyone shed anymore light on this??

I am not an expert on this but isn't it something like 3 month that they are liable for.

Not helpful but rms very common, engine less so.

Is it completely kaput, or just weeping a bit?

If the latter, don't worry about it. Just keep the oil topped-up, and sort it out when/if you need the clutch doing.

Only 40K.

The RAC haven't said no (yet) but the local assessor (Halfords outlet) said he thought the seal wasn't covered. Better frickin' be!

Thanks also above, its leaking oil a bit (spots on the drive) but I can prob top it up as you say in the short term.

Has it ever had a new clutch? If not it'll be needing one soon (my 03 car had its first just after 40k and its second around 90k) so just get that replaced and get the RMS done at the same time.
