Doorless blatting

Went for my first blat with no doors at the weekend. I was only out for 30 minutes or so and I nearly lost my right nostril, never mind my hat and shades. You aeroscreeners are loopy!

It's actually better (less turbulent) with an aeroscreen and even better with aero and half doors. Doorless blatting with a full windscreen is the worst and anything over 50mph means you can't breathe. The little perspex deflectors that fit to the side of the windscreen are supposed to improve matters but the consensus is that they don't do a lot.
Personally I just stick with the side screens although when sitting in traffic on a hot day that can be pretty unbearable.

You need an interchangable aero and half doors.

Pain in the backside to get in and our but ups the expierance to a whol new level.

you really need to try an aero (and optionally half doors) on track - the sensation of speed is intensified to the point that the first few fast laps are sensory overload - highly recommended

Hmmm, I wondered if some sort of side deflector would work. Back to the drawing board on that one then.

I'm not wholly convinced about aeroscreens, as I picked up a large stone chip in the windscreen at the weekend. I've been hit by bees etc in armoured leathers and that hurt enough.

(Can you get SV aeroscreens yet btw)

you can get SV aeroscreens from 'Richard in France' - Caterham haven't tooled up for this yet (hasn't the SV been around for 2-3 years now?)

While you're looking at the CF aeroscreen on Richards site check out his full CF interior!

I'm willing to bet that once you've tried an aeroscreen you won't go back. Just remember to always wear goggles to protect your eyes when on the road.

And half doors - pah!

Brooklands screens look better on older cars or Classics with flared wings. Aeroscreens suit cycle winged cars best.

Tony's SV with cycle wings & brooklands looks a treat. he's worked out a way to easily put them on in summer, and use the winscreen in winter...

S'alright. I just figure the colours (Estoril blue with silver bonnet stripe) will suit Brooklands screens, more than a fat bloke in an unlightened SV will suit a CF aeroscreen.
