How much is a traffic cone?

Just curious really! Does anyone hear work for a roads department, me and my friend had a chat about this while we were driving through some quite long roadworks on the m.way. Thousands of cones whizzed past.. so it got us wondering.
How much is a traffic cone? Or how much is 1000 / 10,000 ??

Quite expensive by the looks of it, however I imagine would be quite cost effective if bought in bulk.

I Know of an item sold to retail for £7 (therefore guessing to the general public £15) that was on contract to a local councils for £28. If the purchasing manager had of got off his a*se and gone to B+Q he would have been hailed a hero.

No different to big companies insisting that you go though their outsourced booking company for hotels/travel - in fact 20 seconds work on the internet would actually get you the same plane/train/hotel/hire car for about 30% of the price.Some people must get some seriously greased palms.
