I'm visiting Vegas in September and plan to stay at the Bellagio, does anyone have any tips on getting the best deal? Is it best to book direct with the hotel or is there a more cost effective option?

Thanks

you can get offer codes from websites in the US (can't remember the name of it at the moment, but I'll check). We used it last year and got really a really good deal.

There is also the check in "tip" that you need to do to, if you're not aware?!

Don't know if you've booked flights yet, but BA have a deal on at the moment where it's £50 a night at the Bellagio if you fly with them.

I've used this a couple of times on Codes for the Four Seasons. Got the link from PH

The famous Vegas Check-in trick is known as the $20 trick. Never used it myself... But in the land of tips, you pass a folded $20 note with your ID as you check-in to get an upgrade. Not allowed to give a room upgrade, so you are to be discreet.

Here is the site for hotel discount codes. I used it and got a very good rate, just make sure you keep checking it.

As mentioned above, yes it's the $20/$50 upgrade tip. Here's a website about it http://www.frontdesktip.com/

I didn't think it would work, but when we checked in, put a $20 in the passport and asked if there were any upgrades available please.
There is all sorts of stuff about picking the correct check in staff member but we were just told which desk to go to, got a youngish chap and we were just nice and polite (as quite a few yanks don't seem to be).
We were in a standard suite (one up from the lowest one) with no view and then were offered either the same sized room but with great fountain views or a massive corner suite, but without views. We went for the big room, as the fountain view room was a smoking one.
They're supposed to give you your money back if they can't upgrade you, but I went in with a gamblers attitude...you pays your money, you takes your chances....
