2 new sounds.............

taking the chim for a decent drive today and noticed two new sounds (had a new cam fitted recently so still learning what is good and what is not) the first is a fluttering sound at low revs, disappears on the open road but definitely there when driving around town, secondly, very occasionally there appears a whirling sound, again during low revs, both sounds appear to be coming from the passenger side, with the fluttering noise coming from the engine and the whirling sound coming from near the battery - anybody got any ideas?

The whirling sound could be the bearings in the alternator does it sound like a spitfire engine?

The fluttering turned out to be a loose HT lead. I'm amazed at how loose they are on the plugs? The dodgy alternator bearings I had not considered will check that out over the weekend. And yes it does sound like a spitfire engine :-)
But I thought they were supposed to ;-)
