Classifieds searching

To PH,

I was curious about the database of cars you have and whether upgrading the searching facilities would be a massive bonus to you and your revenue.

I love PH classifieds. However, non ph'ers that i know don't. This is because they can't narrow down a search.

Would it be a huge increase in costs to improve the search function?

I'd love to be able to search the advert for key words rather than just the title.

To add, things like mileage, excluding cars which are a certain distance away, engine size.

Not things I'd always use but to appeal to the non petrolhead car buyer I'm sure they'd be useful...

I put up a big list of suggestions months ago but was told that the classifieds were for browsing, not searching.

I can't help but think that your friends aren't the only ones finding the experience infuriating.

I would of thought the Classifieds is a large source of revenue for PH (along with advertising obviously).

There are certain models with bundles of the same thing (E46 M3's to name one)... If I could refine my search I'd be happier, although personally, I don't mind spending hours trawling the ads to find the right car, but others want to see every Grey M3 within 40 miles of their location with less than 40k miles... they can't do this on here.

PH seems to be attracting more and more car adverts, it'd be interesting to see how many people are actually searching. Google stats would be good! See how many people go to Classifieds and stay there for longer than 5 minutes.
