Formula 1 Spa Aug 11

I'm looking at having a run over to Spa for the F1 this year. Leaving Thursday, coming back Monday. A little bit of a roadtrip in the M3.

Has anyone done it before, or looking at this year? Just after a few pointers really, any scenic routes, good places to stay? Or even a running mate?!?

Hey, you will have an incredible time, went last year 2010, sat on Puhon to witness Lewis win at Spa- fantastic.

If you have not booked your ferry yet, I would avoid Calais, go across with Norfolk Line to there port at Dunkirk, a lot simpler and will save you a bunch of time.

Make sure you go early, I would even think about going a day earlier leaving on the Wed so you can check out Bruges en route, quality city, thats about 90mins from dunkirk I think, then it splits the journey too! The drive is boring on the main road through Brussells etc but thats the way we went, wanted to get there Thursday for the pit walk- meet the drivers etc.

Will plan on doing 2012!!

Be rude not to add more expense to a trip eh ?

Was planning a trip to the 'ring in August so it would be good to slot the F1 in on the same trip (presuming we can still get tickets)
