I experience a gargling noise emanating from the passenger side of my 96 chim as I accelerate at low speeds. There is a slight gap between the window and roof seal.

Is this wind noise or something more sinister?

The noise is most probably coming from the water pipes leading to the heater matrix. Look under the dash on the passenger side and you will see them. If it is, then you have air in the system. Look through the archives for how to bleed the system.

Check your radiator too Peter.
Don't want to scaremonger but mine started gurgling about 2 months before the rad went pop.
It hasn't gurgled since it was replaced. Hope it's nothing like that though.

On the way back from Le Mans my passenger side started gurgling quite loudly. I drove home no problem but it's still very noisy, what should I look for in the rad?

Thanks for your help. I had a look in the archive postings and found a resolution which I'll try tonight.

Remove the coolant tank cap (blue one). Turn the heating on to full and start the engine from cold. Leave running until the engine gets hot and hopefully any air is expelled.

I'll let you know how I get on.

I think I'll give that a go as well, hopefully it's just air and not a new rad??

That's what I thought, shortly before having to get a new radiator.

Guys, don't get panicky about the rad thing it was just anobservation. If you are going to have alook though it appears from earlier threads that the weak point is bottom right as you look at the front of the car. Look for staining from the coolant/anti-freeze.

I doubt it is anything as drastic though. Make sure you fill up the 'swirl tank' when the engine is cold before doing anything else.

I have got this problem with mine, but i have just had a new radiator put on as a nice big stone hit it!!! So it cant be air in the system as it has only just been blead! I asked the garage and they said it is somtimes water blocked in the seal, there are little holes that normally let the water out but they can get blocked.....BUT they looked at mine and there was no blocked water!!! So i dont know what the problem is now? Maybe i will try heating up the system with the little blue cap off?

Mine gurgled after they replaced the rad too. I just re-bled it and it went away.
