Was cruising through Farnham, Surrey on Saturday - glorious afternoon, top down on my freshly waxed GTS blue Tuscan and genrally feeling very content with myself.

Saw a racing green Chim also stuck in traffic in the town centre and as I passed I waved hi and said nice car. His response: A classic 'Huuurrummpphh', a grumpy glance and then a look away! This has happened a few times and ALWAYS with Chim owners - Tuscans and 350s have been super friendly.

Am I missing something here - are Chim owners more likely to be grumpy old men or have I just run into the few that are!

I always

Up here in God's country everybody's very friendly and most will wave or flash.

(We prefer it if the blokes wave and the girls flash )

Wave and flash for me even if the miserable buggers in York refuse to acknowledge.

This makes me smile in all the right ways as a Cerbie owner!

I have flashed my windscreen wipers on several occasions and tried to wave only to find a roof and windows in the way!

I have now resolved to flashing the hazard lights as I know where that button is!

All the best

I always wave at all Tivs too, especially at ladies flashing

Tend to always smile at other soft tops too (MGF, MX5, SLK, Beetle, etc), not many smile or look back.....they usually look a bit grumpy for some reason?

Once flashed and waved at a Mitsubishi Evo, the chap just looked at me gone out!

Got the thumbs up from an F40 driver on Saturday night near York (no joke).....the ultimate compliment.

Us Yorkshire folk are friendly, al'rite lad!!

Best Regards

Martyn.

Not quite!

Got a wave and the from an AM Vanquish driver and yesterday a new SL500 flashed and waved after he tailgated me at ... mph for several miles, he might have been playing with me but he only passed when I turned off

LA - that was lovely, I feel a bit emotional, even if you didn't mention Lotus. I think I'll still copy it out and stick it on the study wall!

Last time I was out 3 cars coming the other way flashed and waved to me.

And none were in TVRs !

I thought it was for police speed traps until the 3rd time when I was starting to find it a bit weird that I'd not passed one speed trap.. the 3rd flashers were in a van and as I got closer could see they were waving with thumbs up, etc...

Just the 'good on ya mate for having a cool british sports car' kind of flashing.

never had a car do that before I must admit.
