Cars with your Spuds
Log on and buy a car when you're stocking up with pies
Discussion
second time I've said this today, but this is a complete load of shite...
what are they gonna have? Value range which are all white with red & blue stripes and taste like cardboard?
Fiestas as a loss Leader? Yaris as a potential impulse buy on a stand next to the checkout between the mars bars and kinder eggs.. ?
Will there be a policy that you can't buy a car and a can of beer in the same transaction?
Who gives a crap?

Anything that makes me spend evenmore time in the bl*dy supermarket is a BAD THING. I hate them, it's impossible to escape with less than an hour lost, whether you spend £10 or £100.
Or that's how it seems. Thank God for Supermarket home deliveries. At least the hour is wasted in front of the computer.

Totally agree with you there John.. hate the places.. total nightmare of screaming shitty offspring, decrepid old people and morons who seem to have enough time on their hands that they don't care if they (and everyone else trying to get past them) have to take all day in the bloody place. I think those people you see eating in the cafeterias must actually go on day-trips to the supermarket.

Internet shopping is good, just three problems with it:
i) Costs 5 quid...
ii) If they haven't got exactly what you wanted, they have a habit of making a substitution and their judgement is not always great.. you have to explicitly tell them not to do that.
iii) If you generally know what size to buy just by looking, making the transition to ordering by weight can be difficult.. instead of two regular sized pots of yoghurt, it's easy to end up with 2 litres of the stuff... isn't it Mrs Carzee?

Internet shopping is a damm fine idea.

I've found it OK, the only problem is that we're not often organised enough to plan what we want two-three days in advance. For all that next day is theoretically possible, we've found (with our local Tesco) that the slots are booked up in advance anyway.
Some do a collect option - place the order, they get it together, then you go and collect it. Save the delivery charge and you can (with luck) get it same day. Only done this once so far, but it worked well.
John.
