The poor old chim failed on a few minor points yesterday, most importantly it failed on the emissions at idle, 3.50.

I persuaded them to give it the "pre cat" test and so it's only the emissions at idle are a problem.

Apparently, I can adjust the airflow meter.

If so, which way for leaner running?

The guy is going to let me fiddle on the retest so hope to get it through OK.

btw, I run no lambdas.

I didnt think it had to pass at idle.
Tell him to test it at 2500 rpm or else

Hi chaps hope you don't mind me jumping in here but the lambda caught my attention .I have a 1996 4ltr with cat removed but lambda still in place they are getting a constant feed for some reason even with everything turned off so was wondering if they could be discounted and after reading this topic i take it i can without any problems is this right ?I've tried the relays and fuses and traced the wires and can't see any faults.

You can disconnect but have to run the (green?) resister that puts the ECU on a defalt setting, (correct me if I'm wrong).

What RPM should the readings be taken at, idle or higher?

Last year my local village man just pulled the sensor half way out the exhaust to get the correct reading, sadly he's left to become a tree surgeon frown.

The previous owner disconnected the lamdas, so approx 5 years ago, I haven't got them and I dont know if the wiring is sound if I can find it!

I was hoping that I could tweak the afm, count the turns and return to that setting if that is the best thing to do!

What I eventually need is I guess, a full Megasquirt or similar, one day ehrolleyes.
