I've been told by an experienced Tivver to fit Nitrons on my Tuscan.

Gaz Golds vs Nitrons. Is there added benefit in fitting Nitrons over Gaz golds at the higher cost?

Some will say yes, Some will say no, I looked at this last year and went with the Gaz Gold Pros and they have been excellent, I don't do track days perhaps the Nitrons would be better if you do track days but shaving a second of my lap times has never been my thing. I want good everyday performance on the road, B roads and motorway and I get that with the Gaz Gold Pros. But get them set up properly and the tracking done it makes all the difference.

I have some Gaz golds to fit, you pays your money and you take your chances. It is a personal thing and down to how much you want to spend. I paid £300 for mine smile

Then you have the choice of springs, ride height, damper setting, tyres, driving conditions and driver to factor in.

Factoring cost in I would go for the Gold Pros. Spend the rest on your missus/some leven accessories!!

I have some Nitrons sitting around gathering dust if you want them. Not sure how much they go for, or what condition they're in (haven't checked them since they came off the car), but no reason to doubt these aren't in a good state. Let me know if you want me to investigate further.

EDIT: misleading typo about state of shocks corrected!

as per others, i decided i am not a trackay warrior and Gaz gold pros are very good dampers, much improved on OEM, and as good as the racing reds i compared side by side! I didnt think it was worth another £400 odd for that extra 5% i may have got from the Nitrons, which are undoutedly great, everyone raves about them!!

Collected my Tuscan II S yesterday evening from Bespoke Performance, having had Nitron Racing Reds fitted. I had exactly that dilemma: Gaz Golds or Racing Reds. I'd certainly recommend the Reds.

Having done my research and asked quite a few fitters and other track enthusiasts, I understand that there is very little between them, certainly not enough to justify the higher cost of the Golds. It's getting the correct settings for your intended driving that is more important.
