Amazingly (at the moment) EVERYTHING works. (touch tree).
The current (2nd) owner has had it for 8 years, and had it religiously serviced every 12 months with everything attended to.
There is no rust, the suspension works, remote locking works, the heater works, the heated electric seats work, it has working Harmon Kardon, and the sunroof works.
Hoping as one of the last ones (did they stop in 2002?) it may remain a good one!!
Oh, and only 48,000 miles on the clock.
Sure I will be on here asking how to fix something soon enough!

I would say £4.6 is pretty good for an 02, even though it is a 4.0. June 02 saw the last P38's in the showrooms as that's when ours was sold.
The wheels look like Disco 2 wheels so wonder what happened to the originals.
Enjoy.
They are original Mondial wheels offered from 97 on. And could still spec them on a new model of the last build. But by then there were a host of newer offerings you could spec them with. The wheels look like Disco 2 wheels so wonder what happened to the originals.

BTW, the X5 was great across Europe and 31 mpg fully loaded at 85ish.

X5 ain't no RR. Ask anyone who has driven both in the snow.My comment was to Bluethunder as a response to a thread on another message board.

You live and learn BT. I don't think I've ever seen a P38 with them. Ours has Hurricanes because I didn't like the original spoke wheels and the Disco 2 we traded in had the Hurricanes. I got the dealer to swap them.

TheMondial and Triple sports were offered as an 18 inch up-grade to the original HSE rims. Regarding the X5 and my previous comments. I found the engine to be a peach compared to how it works in the RR. But it was just the ride. Its ok on the open road. But i just found it bone jaring on the pot holed and speed hump littered roads of London. BTW, the X5 was great across Europe and 31 mpg fully loaded at 85ish.
That looks really nice mate, I love the red. I have a P38 with Mondials, they're a rare option on the car, I've only seen one other in person with them fitted, but I think they suit the car. I had mine refurbished as they were tatty, best thing is to manically keep on top of the brake dust in the recesses, as it gathers and bakes on fast being so close to the brakes.
Mine :

Realistically, I think you can see anywhere into the low 20's on a run driving carefully? It depends on the health of the engine. Mine is a 4.6 and the best I could get out of it was low 16's, however I've just done a light refresh on the engine, new head gaskets etc, and yesterday on the first decent run it's had I averaged 22.3mpg. I took a picture, doubt I'll see it again lol.
It's incredibly easy to get into single figures though, without even driving fast to be honest. My friend has a later P38 4.0, with the same engine management as yours has, (mine's an earlier GEMS engine) and he's getting between 21 and 24 to the gallon on average driving carefully.
