Dropped by my mate's yard this afternoon as I happened upon one of his chaps recovering a nice looking Jowett Javelin and thought I'd go take a look. It had a failed brake master cylinder.

Turns out that before authorising a recovery, the breakdown firm (don't know who) first suggested that they took the 1953 car to the "nearest Jowett main dealer", then decided on a National Tyre Service depot as they would "probably have one in stock".

Genius.

Similarly I had a flat battery after Glastonbury last year.
My breakdown company had never heard of it and couldnt find it.

I broke down in my Dolly Sprint once, and the breakdown company wanted to send a bike recovery van "because it's a Triumph".
