Hi,

I cannot be the only one thinking of how to get around the rip-off roaming data charges whilst at Le Mans, it would be great to be able to watch live timing, keep up with the twitter reports & news of what is going on, especially as it looks like Kangaroo TV is out. With a bit of research (a quick google search!) I found this site http://paygsimwithdata.wikia.com/wiki/France which suggest you can get Orange unlimited Pay As You Go data for €7 for the week. Has anyone any experience?

This sounds great but you need to edit your post to get the link to work.

Whenver I'm in Europe it always feels like the UK is by far and away the cheapest for data. Over here £5 is enough for a months data, but elsewhere seems you'd be lucky to get a weekend for that.

Have you considered switching to a mobile phone network that doesn't have rip-off roaming data charges?

£2/day for 25Mb/day, or £10/month for 25Mb/day doesn't sound like too much of a rip-off to me. Those are Vodafone's charges with the free Vodafone Data Traveler add-on.

To be honest I can live without internet in and around the circuit, its nice to get away from been constantly connected.
