my e46 (while driving) decided to beep at me (the 3 degree type beep) and the the 2x amber lights came on as if i had held the dsc button on (i didnt honest ). it wouldnt then turn off, had to turn engine off and back on, so far its ok... ideas on why this could have happened?
It didnt like the output from some of the sensors - probably a sensor fault. Best thing to do is get somebody to read the fault codes - it will have stored a code in the memory indicating what the problem is.
I had the exact same thing happen to me today. Second time it's happened, albeit in a year. Both times happened when driving over tram-tracks, so reckon it just didn't like the jolt.
