Staying at the o/h's parents this week and there are a load of tinned sardines in chilli and tomato in the cupbord!

I've never tried them properly before (which is weird because I love fish and eat pretty much every other type all the time!)

If I was to try some, how should they be eaten?

Thanks

Stick 'em on some toast and under the grill.

I sometimes add a splash of Worcester sauce as well.

Or in sandwiches to take to the beach.

make big doorstop piece of toast from a ciabatta.

mix mayonnaise and west indian hot pepper sauce to as hot as you can handle. (if you dont do chilli, use a bit of ketchup too).

grill the sardines on the ciabata, cut into big solider-y bits and dip in the hotsauce.

Get them out of the can and de-bone them. Get some spaghetti on the go. Sweat off a finely chopped onion in some olive oil and add the sardines and the juice from the can - you could also add some extra passata at this point too. Warm the tomato/sardine mixture through then add the spaghetti and fold through the sauce - job done!

You could also add some extras like an anchovy or two as well as some basil or sump-ting...

And a good few capers for good measure. Do this easy peasy pasta dish quite often. Tasty, and cheap as chips.

The chilli Mayo sounds good

As does the pasta!

I'll let you know the outcome, thanks all!
