There are a few bits that make noises in my car when it goes over uneven roads. The plastic shroud around the radio/fans makes a lovely squeaky noise especially - I was thinking of dousing it in silicone lube to see if that made a difference - any reason I shouldn't? Will it screw with electrics or is it like wd40?

First of all, excellent title to the post wink

As for the squeaks - I know a chap who had a mk2.5 and bought a load of the insulation foam, and then spent ages hunting for every single squeak and noise, promptly shoving piles of the insulation behind the panels to stop the noises - apparently worked a treat.
