So, what did everyone think of the M600 then?

Now that Silverstone has happenened, there are a lot more of us that have experienced the M600. What did everyone think to it?
My thoughts:
Incredibly composed, fantastic linear power delivery. Superb mechanical grip. 3 laps was enough to make my neck start to hurt! From reading an early Evo review of one of the prototypes, it sounds like they've toned down the acceleration, or perhaps made it less peaky? Evo mentioned it getting scarier as you climbed the rev range, and being "Veyron quick" right at the top, but to me on Tuesday it felt like an incredibly linear power delivery and a very flat torque curve. Having had a ride in Kev's car later in the day, apparently set to 525bhp, it felt quite similar. Quite a bit louder but also very linear and I don't think they were much different in terms of outright acceleration.
Track harnesses would be nice in the braking zones! Otherwise maybe look at active seatbelts that grab under braking? <can of electronic-gadget based worms>
Oh, and I loved the way it sounded burbling round the pits. Shame you lost some of that once you were strapped in!
As for looks...
Even better in the flesh and you can really see they've paid attention to the design to keep it looking like a Noble. Lots of little cues and winks at the M12 and even M10, whilst moving the design on and really making it look modern and like a true quality product. Probably my favourite thing about the whole car aesthetically were the wheels, they had a very nice form to them and suited the car really well.
Finally, a couple of thoughts following a discussion with a friend yesterday; I've realised I've stopped getting scared in cars as a passenger, and he equated that to not being excited any more? Is this true do you think? Am I dead inside?!?!
I guess I get more excited/nervous about driving things but that was most certainly out of the question!
Overall I thought it was a fantastic experience, a brilliant opportunity and very interesting to see what the car could do, and I hope I didn't annoy Dave by asking too many questions when he was trying to concentrate on the matter in hand! Many thanks to Noble for still being interested in what us lot are up to, despite moving massively out of <most?> of our budgets!

I was on a run down Lap when Dave buzzed my down the hanger straight for a laugh .........scared the crap out of me

That's odd because in my experience you get more scared as you get older due to you being more aware of your own mortality, and no longer oblivious to the consequences of things going wrong. Maybe you're choosing your passenger rides more carefully - you haven't been out with Adrian have you? I guess I get more excited/nervous about driving things but that was most certainly out of the question!I'm glad you all had a good time at Silverstone and got a chance to appreciate what the M600 is really like. The fact that it combines that kind of track performance whilst being docile on the road is what really impressed me. BTW Do you know what setting it was on as I'm surprised that you said it felt similar to Kev's car as it (the blue one) looked and felt significantly quicker than Phil's car at Bruntingthorpe, and I wouldn't have thought the extra 20-25bhp that Kev is running would have made that much difference?

Must say I was very impressed and pleased that Noble took the time out to support us at what is effectively a club organised track day... I never got a ride in the M600 as I was next in line to go out when the flag was waved, I was looking forward to seeing how the performance compared, they sounded great and clearly went well.
What is clear is the massive improvement in build quality over our M12's, both the cars ran faultlessly with only a break to get fuel.
So the big question has to be.... will one be entered into the GT championship or lemans?

I thought it was top draw, the linear power, the amazing torque, the agility with which it whipped round the track and the speed at which it could be corrected when the back stepped out (allowing for Dave's sublime driving skills of course !!) were all very impressive. i suppose you could argue it performed in a manner the £200k price would suggest. On the limit it seemed pretty stable - again certainly in the hands of decent driver. Would it be a scary drive on the roads, i guess it could but you wouldnt have in in ballistic track mode would you.
They look great externally and internally - does it compare with a Lambo or other top end supercar, I dont know, but i think that can only be down to personal choice,likes and dislikes so you cant be right or wrong on that.
If i had to be super picky, for £200k i would want the choice of race harness and/or normal 3 point belt as i have in my car. Mind you, if you can spend £200k on a car what's another few quid on a race harness ???!!!

I have suggested it to Peter (Dyson) as I thought it'd be a good way to raise Noble's profile, particularly given his experience, but he doesn't seem interested at the moment. It's a pity you didn't get a chance to go out in it this time but I'm sure there'll be other opportunities.
I loved the car at the autosport show and made my feelings know afterwards but one thing that I didn't know about was the sound ooooh errr.
Both cars looked fantastic on track and I thought it very special that Noble would bring two such valuable cars to an event like this to thrash around for our pleasure.
I still love the look and quality of build on the finished carbon version and really do wish them the best for the future.

I'd like to think the M600 is still from the same stable as our humble M12s, and if so, I'd like to think what I'm about to state still remains the same. That is, a friend who lives nearby is an ex racing driver. I won't say his name, but he raced back in the 70s for Lord March as well as a few other big names at the time. He tells me he didn't have the magic that friends of his like James Hunt had, but none the less, he must know what he's talking about to have raced at that level. He says the Noble M12 IS 'the real deal' and that it is a racing car on the road. It is superb. The others, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche are just for the posers. He compares them to jewellery! Full of bling and stuff you don't need. This man has serious pots of money from other ventures and wouldn't drive any of those big names though the cost to him is irrelevant.
So here's hoping that that £200k for the M600 is justified and that comparing it to the other supercars is a comparison you just shouldn't be making. They should be totally different animals designed for a totally different job. Most of those other cars can be seen crawling around Knightsbridge in the traffic everyday. I bet the next M600 you see will be blowing your doors off up a motorway!
