Microsoft update - go away

MS keeps trying to force this one one me. It's installed! any ideas?

Oh I had that a while back, keeps saying it has to be downloaded.

I contacted MS Support, what they said was to uninstall this, bugger up this and then reinstall that...oh yeah great I'm going to screw up my system just to stop this. Aparantly it's also a registry edit too.

I had my PC on automatic downloading and installing of updates. I turned it off. went through a period of shutting down and staring the PC (couple of days) then ran a manual update. Finished, never had it back....not sure if it was fix but it worked. No problems either now. The update is installed and I have no recurring MSN install icons.
