Suspension Springs

Hi Everyone

I was wondering if you could help me the Suspension Sring went on a Stilo we had (fortunately it had a recall about 3 years ago to amend the fault of the spring going through the tyre should it ever break which it did last year).

But now having a Idea 06 plate the suspension spring went on Monday and went through the tyre and sliced it into 2 pieces so why was there no modifaction or the problem sorted out like the Stilo prior to it happening????

Just wondered if anyone had every had this happen and what they done about it?

Not just Fiat, rear coil springs on mercedes and BMW are known to fail.
