My boot lid has some fine scratches on, these aren't down to bare metal but look like they have gone through the black paint. What's the best approach to hiding these?
Is coloured T-cut any good?
Touch up paint?

serious question - sorry

The main page in here just keeps getting better!

A serious answer - I would avoid T-Cut as this is likely to cause more paint problems if used too much and will probably only fill the scratches.

I recently used a Chipex kit on solid red paint (the Leon FR) on the front end as it was covered in stone chips. This did a very good job and was well worth the money. They are around £50 but often have forum discount codes.

Advantage of this is it will actually be putting paint back on the car and therefore be permanent.

Thanks. I'm not keen to make things worse, but If I'm forking out 50 notes there's other stuff I'd rather that went towards first; stereo, suspenders, wheel respraying. Think I'll live with it for a bit before doing it properly.

Autoglym Paint Restorer (a kind of mild T-Cut) followed by Autoglym Deep Shine (specially designed for darker colours) might be worth a punt. Under 20 notes for the two. And no I don't work for Autoglym. I just rate their products.
