Disney channel 4:3

Recently upgraded my 28" CRT to a 42" Panasonic plasma.

Now, having a 9 year old daughter means that the Disney channel is on alot. On the old TV it was fine, filled the screen, on this new TV it's showing in 4:3 (black down the sides), the Nickelodian channels are the same, however Disney junior is full screen.

Apart from these kids channels every other channel is ok, why is this?

Perhaps they only show old stuff that was only recorded in 4:3 ratio. Disney has an enormous back catalogue.

Set the tv to auto widescreen when watching this channel. My Samsung manual says not to use the LCD for prolonged periods with black bars. Also your daughter is unlikely to notice a slighty fatter Mickey Mouse 4:3 compared to the current day Handy Manny 16:9 widescreen version

Is everything they show, even brand new episodes of programs! I've had a play and found the zoo settings, she'll have to watch like that, I know the black sides are bad for the TV!
