It's that time in the project, the manifolds will have to back on soon.

I've still got the pre-cats in mine and am to lazy / dont want the hassle / havent got the time of taking them out myself.

Has anyone got a pair of de-pre-catted manifolds (late type) avaliable ?

Or do you know of somewhere in the east mids that will do it and at what cost ?

The obvious place for manifolds is ACT Products though I got mine from JP Exhausts.

Might be able to help though just offered similar help in another thread so will tread carefully wink

I have a spare pair which will be de-catted and re-faced on the sealing surfaces shortly. PM me if you're interested.

Many thanks,
Sam

not wishing to sound daft but how do you remove the pre-cat and does it make much difference
will there be a problem at MOT time ?

As far as I’m aware you just smash them out with a long bar and a long drill bit.
Can take a while and be a messy job which is why I didn’t want to do it myself. (Which it looks like i will be doing now, having looked at how much a pair of manifolds go for.)

No problem at MOT time as the main cat would still be in the Y piece, the precats in the manifold are only there to work before the main cat gets up to operating temperature (MOT emissions tests should be done with the engine at operating temp).

Getting rid of the pre cats should lower under bonnet temperatures as the gases flow quicker, this may also release a few BHP – around 5 ?
