Baiting lefties
Discussion
Has anyone noticed how easy it is to bait people 'of the left'? Since blinky got kicked out, quite a few people who I prevously thought of as perfectly reasonable and intelligent have turned out to be raving, slavering, pis$ boiling, whinging, hectoring annoying lefties of the highest order.
Literally within days they were venting their spleens with the usual Labour textbook stuff, 'Tory scum', 'evil Tories', 'cuts', 'cuts', 'cuts', 'Thatcher', 'poll tax' and 'what about the poor?'
I now actually bait some of these people on purpose just to watch them implode. A simple 'David Cameron seems like a lovely chap' post on facebook is enough to see them virtually disintegrate in rage at how unfair it all is and how the Tories just want to eat babies.
During the Blair/McRuin years millions still voted Tory, despite the hoplessness of Hague and IDS and during all the many f*ck ups that Labour fostered on us, just soldiering quietly on hoping that one day they'd see a Tory in charge again. I am surprised at the almost religious fervour with which these people hate those of the right. So don't forget kids, bait a leftie today!

What I don't understand is that the biggest experiment in ultra-leftism; the Soviet Union, despite the nation's huge resources (it was self sufficient) and undoubted intelligence and technological achievement (an example being the Russian space program) was a failure.
What was purported to be a revolution 'for the people' simply replaced one elite (aristocracy) with another (the political centre), cronyism, inefficiency and corruption continued and possibly even increased and the ramifications for the ordinary workers were dire - and many parts away from the cities have yet to see much progress, because of the depths they were allowed to sink to - and the lack of freedom and abuse of human rights could not possibly be countenanced.

If you really want to upset them, suggest that we require more cuts[quote]
Which we do if the deficit is to be cut. This is the bit that no leftie wants/wishes to take on board and understand. They really do believe the Coalition is making cuts to be nasty, priceless.
A surprising number of people seem to believe that the cuts are necessary because "Bankers" trousered "all our money", and that if only Cameron were willing to "take it back" from "his friends" we could go back to handouts and non-jobs for all.Which we do if the deficit is to be cut. And the biggest experiment in ultra-rightism is the USA . . .What was purported to be a revolution 'for the people' simply replaced one elite (aristocracy) with another (the political centre), cronyism, inefficiency and corruption continued and possibly even increased and the ramifications for the ordinary workers were dire - and many parts away from the cities have yet to see much progress, because of the depths they were allowed to sink to - and the lack of freedom and abuse of human rights could not possibly be countenanced.

And yet, the biggest selling newspapers in the UK is nothing but rightie baiting nonsense.
Makes you think!
Totally agree, although most of us have skins thick enough to see the Daily Wail for what it is. As a rational adult I can read the latest 'immigrants are turning your children into suicide bombers' article and go off and form my own opinion, which is that it's almost certainly bMakes you think!
ks. Lefties seem to take the opposite view: if you don't see the world through their somewhat distorted prism then you're, well, 'scum'. Derek Smith said:

The thing that really confuses me about them is how many of them are intelligent and well educated, yet they seem incapable of understanding how the real world works.
It's usually because most have never had either a proper job or life outside of education. A lefty that I know thinks that rather than making cuts to the public sector, we should tax private enterprise more and force them to give back to the community by forcing them to pay for roads etc.

Lefties definitely seem less capable of engaging in debate - it is always the shout-down method, often involving some kind of emotional blackmail.

General tactic they use is try to get you to say something that they can be offended by, play the offended card, and then make out you're morally inferior.
A world without lefties would be such a more grown-up place

The irony in this post is almost artistic.

Indeed. There's a few on a forum local to me - I win every time.
Saying what a waste of space winky is, usually has them blasting you with condescending remarks about how he saved this country from being in a worse recession than it was, what an inspiration he is and how the Tories don't know anything.
Hmmmm, really?
