Excuse me if this is a dumb question but with the Hotwire do you then not need a pressure regulator?
If not, why not?

Yes, you do, but the hot wire rail is made to accomodate the standard fixed FPR directly, not on a hose, so fabricating a bespoke connection would have taken time, and the car was in for a mapping session. If not, why not?

I can't say I've heard that it's ideal, although I guess once you start playing with fuel pressures, you should really look at the fuel map itself, which doesn't seem to be that easy with Lucas systems. I have heard of people slightly crushing the fixed FPR's to increase pressure though.

Andy,
Are you getting the Jenvey 3 Bar?
Why not get the matching bracket for a Few Dollars More and make less of a pigs eye of the job

The Jenvey one is actually the Weber Alpha regulator. I am going for the adjustable one and don't worry about the bracket I have some stainless flat bar somewhere and I am a dab hand at polishing now! Are you getting the Jenvey 3 Bar?

I have concluded that I hate rising rate regulators, as they are just a band-aid to a properly mapped engine - which means fitting an aftermarket system, which will also control your spark advance too - which all improves the engine a fair bit too.
I think I'm going to invest in a Megasquirt and be done with all this pratting about.

Yeah, I agree about the rising rate regulators hence my changing it. If I had the choice and the money I would go to carbs. Nothing like the intake roar from 4 downdraughts!I think I'm going to invest in a Megasquirt and be done with all this pratting about.
